Christopher Humphries Art
Christopher Humphries is an established English artist, based in picturesque Suffolk in East Anglia. His work has been widely exhibited in many local and national galleries, including The Aldeburgh Gallery, Southwold Gallery, Art for Cure and The Royal Academy in London.
Christopher's chosen medium is a mix of acrylic, pastel and charcoal, with an original approach using open brush strokes leaving layer upon layer of vibrant colour and movement flow to 'find their way through to the surface and the viewer'. One of his defining features is his versatility and open mind regarding this approach to his unique subjects. Christopher is well known for his experimentation with new ideas, bigger and bolder patterns and forms and the use of vibrant colours in multiple media.
Commissions have included art projects for companies such as The London Mozart Players, Piper Champagne and The British Film Institute. His chosen subjects include English and French rural landscapes and seascapes, dreamlike nudes which spill to the edges of the canvas, and enchanting still life, interiors and gardens.
Christopher also spends time teaching painting and drawing in colleges around the country and runs small art classes from his home studio in Yoxford, Suffolk. Information on art courses can be found here .
